Mombasa,KENYA:Jubilee party has officially launched campaigns to support candidate Hazel Katana for senatorial seat Mombasa county.

The event which took place at Mvita grounds in Mombasa County on Thursday was attended by several leaders of the jubilee party including Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Nairobi women rep Rachael Shebesh among others.

Senator Murkomen said Mombasa County needs a woman leader because she would clean up the county and consider the rights of Mombasa residents and so Hezel Katana will fit for Mombasa senator.

Murkomen praised the  jubilee government saying it  had done a lot in the past four years including improving infrastructure, expansion of Mombasa port among others, and so there is need to give it another opportunity to finish the work it started.

He criticized Mombasa governor for failure to lead his County and so Hazel Katana will be able to change the look of Mombasa.

“Mombasa is smelling. We are shown pictures of a person who has embezzled public funds . Mombasa is smelling1.”Said Murkomen.

Nairobi women representative Rachael Shebesh on her side said Hezel deserves the seat as she is a brave woman who can defend justice of all citizens.

Shebesh also said it is  in the jubilee manifesto that  expectant mothers will be given prenatal services, clinic services, delivery service and postnatal services for free.

“Jubilee has done. Imagine now expectant mothers will get access to prenatal services, delivery services and post natal services for free.”Said Shebesh.

The leaders congratulated aspirant Abdusalam Kassim for stepping down in favor of Ms Katana.

Katana defected to Jubilee earlier in the year from the ODM Party citing mistreatment in the ODM party during her tenure as the Mombasa Deputy governor.
