Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan has joined several Ugandan celebrities in mourning her ex-husband who passed on earlier in the morning.

Ivan had been receiving treatment at the Steve Biko hospital in South Africa where he passed on in the wee hours of Thursday

“God loves those that are special and that’s exactly who you were & I guess that’s why he wanted you to himself. You have touched and helped thousands, you did wonders and I remember you telling me “life is too short Zee let me live it to the fullest”, this very dark hour it makes sense why you always said those words to me. Stockholm, SWEDEN: Manchester United scored two goals past Ajax to win the Europa League final in Stockholm.

Paul Pogba’s deflected shot put them ahead in the 18th minute.

Later in the 48 minute, Chris Smalling’s header at a corner met Henrikh Mkhitaryan in front of goal with the midfielder wasting no chance to put the game out of reach for Ajax.

5 police officers have been confirmed dead in Mandera county.

The attack happened after the Mandera governor Ali Roba’s campaign convoy which was headed to Lafey ran over a landmine.

According to the director of Administrative services in Mandera county Hussein Abdi who spoke to Baraka FM on phone the attack happened infront of the governors vehicle.

“The governor is abit shaken but he is okay as the attack happened in front of his vehicle”

Hussein also added that of the 5 officers killed 4 of them were locals.

The bodies have been transported to the Mandera county hospital mortuary.

The attack comes just a few hours after a similar attack claimed the lives of 3 police officers in Garissa county.

No group has claimed responsibility so far for the two attacks

Ugandan Socialite who also happens to be Diamond Platinumz’s girlfriend has dismissed reports that her ex-husband Ivan Ssemwanga is dead.

This was after Ugandan tabloids reported earlier in the day that the flamboyant businessman had passed on.

In a screenshot of a conversation that has surfaced online, the socialite has been seen rubbishing the rumors but saying that his condition was bad as he was still on life support.

According to Ugandan media, the screenshot was from a close source to the two.

The Ugandan tycoon has been admitted at the Steve Biko hospital in South Africa for the past 11 days after he suffered a stroke.

Nairobi, KENYA: Senate committee on Public Accounts and Investment on Wednesday issued summons to IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati and EACC leadership to appear before the committee, to shed light over refusal of Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya to appear before the committee.

Governor Oparanya was set to appear before the committee to shed light on the use of 2013/2014 financial year in his county.

PAIC chair Prof Anyang Nyongo issued the summons after IEBC commission sent a representative who urged the committee to postpone the hearing so that the commission can prepare itself.

Nyong’o wants the two commissions to guide the committee on steps to be taken against Oparanya if he fails to appear before it.

Oparanya has refused to appear before the committee arguing that the accounts executive committee of his county government are tasked to answer accounts queries of the two financial years.

Meanwhile, the director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko has urged parliament to amend the law so that committees can be given mandate to issue warrant of arrest, instead of depending on other institutions .
