The team has been resilient this far winning all its four opening matches before narrowly clipping Latvia 5-4 in the quarters on Tuesday to reach the last four.

Elsewhere, women defending champions Kenya will take on Iran in the semis on Wednesday after thrashing perennial rivals Uganda 5-0 in the quarter finals on Tuesday.

Kenya booked quarters slot without taking to the court following the disqualification of Rwanda and Zambia from the championship.

This is the fourth edition of Roll Ball World Cup and is expected to come to close on February 23 having kicked off on February 17 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The first edition was held in 2011 at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune India, while Kenya hosted the second edition in 2013.

Roll ball is played on skates and between two teams of 12 players, with only six players out of the 12 are allowed to play on court at a time.

A player can hold the ball in one hand or both hands, but must dribble the ball while carrying it.

Kilifi, KENYA: Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has spread his party wings in the Coast Region by having welcomed Nominated Senator Emma Mbura who ditched Jubilee for Maendeleo Chap Chap.

Speaking in Rabai on Tuesday during the welcome party of Senator Mbura, Governor Mutua hailed Mbura for being a politician who is after development of the people of Rabai, which is inline with his party principles.

“I have been following up her work in Rabai She went all the way to bring incubators to help Kilifi residents , you might think she is the governor; these are the type of leaders Kenyans need.” Said Mutua.

On the other hand, Senator Mbura who is also vying for the Rabai MP seat, said she joined Maendeleo Chap Chap citing frustrations from Jubilee where she has been known to be very vocal when it comes to Coast politics.

“My Kaya elders advised me to look for another party after a politician who has been known to be an ODM die hard, has now shifted to Jubilee to come and frustrate my bid, they wanted a male candidate but I will defeat them,” Said Mbura.

Jubilee party has been said to be in favor of ODM Rabai Ward MCA Anthony Kenga to run for the seat,a matter that has been seen to frustrate the vibrant Coast politician.

“Up to last week, he was calling them thieves. All of a sudden, he has been picked. Why should I wait to be bundled out?” Added Mbura.

Governor Mutua also introduced Mombasa County Women Rep Aspirant Halima Mohamed and Lamu Women Rep aspirant Mariam Abubakar, who is also know to be very vocal in Lamu, together with other MCA aspirants as his team that will represent his party at the Coast.

The Senator, who is popular among Rabai women for her philanthropy has been said to be a good pick for Governor Mutua who is strengthening his party ahead of the August 2017 polls.

The party has been reaping big from Jubilee following the defection of several MCAs, MPs and governor aspirants.

Embu governor aspirant Lenny Kivuti is one of the high-profile politicians who jumped ship, reinforcing Mendeleo Chap Chap’s ratings.

Leaders call for probe of tycoons illegally compensated for coal plant land

Lamu, KENYA:Lamu County top officials and leaders have called for prompt investigations and possible cancellation of 11 title deeds belonging to tycoons within Kwasasi village where the Sh 200 billion Coal Fired Power Plant is set to be established.

Lamu County Secretary Osman Siyat and Lamu Deputy Governor Eric Mugo confidently said they are aware of the existence of the 11 titles which add up to over 3000 acres of land within and along the Coal fired Power Plant project lands at Kwasasi.

They vowed to go to court if the matter is not addressed and titles revoked before the projects commence.

The two said they have concrete evidence on the existence of the fake title deeds belonging to known tycoons who are bent on grabbing land around mega projects in the county.

Speaking in Lamu on Monday, the county secretary and the deputy governor Eric Mugo have also accused the National Lands Commission-NLC chair Muhammad Swazuri of trying to sweep the matter under the carpet even after the complaints were presented to him.

Siyat pointed an accusing finger at the NLC saying it had failed to responsibly handle squabbles concerning lands allocated to major national development projects in the county like the LAPSSET and now the coal plant lands.

The leaders have said they are also aware of a cartel of tycoons from the coast and other parts of the country who are grabbing lands from locals around mega development projects.

“We have enough proof that there exists 11 title deeds belonging to individual tycoons at Kwasasi. What we want is for the NLC to explain to the public who owns the lands and how they were acquired. We are aware there is a cartel of tycoons who want to dupe the poor locals of this county and we won’t allow that, atleast not if we can help it,”said Siyat.

They two have also accused Swazuri of making independent decisions concerning land in Lamu without consulting or even informing the leadership and asked him to stop the ‘habit’.

Deputy governor Eric Mugo said the NLC boss had a tendency to conduct secret operations in as far as lands in Lamu are concerned leaving many leaders in the dark.

“Swazuri does not want to sit with or even consult us for solutions on land issues to be arrived at.he comes here secretly and does odd things then leaves.this issue of 11 title deeds has already been presented to him but he seems not to mind and we wish to know why,”said Mugo.

They swore to use the courts to seek justice for their people and protect their lands from invasion by unknown cartels.

Government begins land adjudication for squatter settlement scheme in Kilifi

Kilifi, KENYA: The National and County government of Kilifi has begun land adjudication process in Kilodi Settlement scheme in Mastangoni Ward, Kilifi North Sub County.

Kilifi County Surveyor David Kiama told Baraka FM on Monday that an estimated 185 hectares of land will be sub divided to squatters in Kilodi A and B settlement schemes.

Kiama said the team is expected to finish the whole process from establishment of the perimeter boundary in order to get the working area to publishing of the map, that will be used to process title deeds in one month time.

“A team of eleven officers from both the national and county government will conduct the exercise, starting today,” said Kiama.

“We want to take the shortest time possible and in one month we will be through with this exercise so the squatters should expect their title deeds in late March or Early April,” added Kiama.

According to Kiema, from Kilodi settlement scheme, the team will move to Mwezang’ombe settlement scheme.

Selina Maitha, Kilifi Deputy County Commissioner urged the community to ignore the previous survey which was conducted by a private surveyor hired by the County Government before the team was dispatched.

Maitha said some members in the settlement scheme claimed the exercise was not fare enough and a number of them could not be involved because they could not raise Sh. 300 for the committee members.

“Everyone must know that whatever happened in this area before today when we commence the adjudication process is null and void. We will not go by anything out of what the team on the ground will come up with,” said Ms. Maitha.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the community to settle disputes among themselves for the surveyors to have easy time when on the ground.

Ms. Maitha warned chiefs and their assistants to distance themselves from demanding for cash before they assist people during the process.

“No chief, assistant chief or the committee members is allowed to charge anything from anyone. People are not going to contribute money for your facilitation but your welfare will be taken care of by the team you will be working with,” she said.

However, Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi  has on several occasions blamed the national government for its delay in issuance of title deeds to residents living in more than 25 Settlement Schemes and adjudication sections, that the county completed its survey and forwarded the list of beneficiaries to the Ministry of Land.

“There are still many challenges when it comes to handling land matters in Kilifi County. We have more than twenty five settlement schemes and adjudication sections that our department of land has worked on them but no response up to date,” Kingi was quoted saying in one of his public Barraza’s.

Kingi said that it is unfortunate that the national government through the Ministry of Lands is not working on the same pace with the County government and it is slow in releasing title deeds.

Video: Akothee takes Malindi by storm making “Mzungu” join her in “twerking” on stage

Over the weekend Akothee made a Grand entry at the Pata Pata Beach hotel in Malindi to a receptive crowd who couldn’t help but wait to see her perform.

With the caravan of her Akothee Safaris Vans and her in a Landcruiser V8, she made a grand entry just like her name “Madam Boss”.

The event that was  partly sponsored by Baraka FM, began at around 9pm Saturday night and saw Malindi locals together with their Italian counterparts grace the beach hotel, all in their best night out attires.

Unlike her previous Pre Valentine show in Mtwapa at Lafolia, this was full of energetic fans who were charged even before she took to the stage.

The DJ was on point with the best Music selection in town with  Baraka FM’s Emcee Rawney topping it up, as he welcomed Akothee to the Stage.

When Akothee took to the stage, the crowd went mad with some of the fans getting onto the stage just to have a glimpse of or even touch Madamboss aka Akothee .

The Bouncers who were overprotective as usual, could not allow fans to get close to her, until Akothee told them to let her fans enjoy themselves since ‘they are the ones that make her’.

All in all, the bouncers were overpowered by the fans who took to the stage and started dancing and twerking together with Akothee (like the Mzungu Man you will see on the next page).

One of the fans got an opportunity to dance with Akothee (to be the Diamond )when she performed ‘Sweet Love’ where he held Akothee so suggestively.

see the video below:

She energetically performed most of her hit songs like; Give it to me ,Yuko moyoni, Sweet love and finally Benefactor which has been ruling the airwaves leaving the fans asking  for more.
