Timbe joins Olunga in Chinese League

Nairobi, KENYA:Kenyan international Ayub Masika Timbe has become the latest name to be drafted in the much talked of Chinese League after he joined second tier club Beijing Renhe on Monday.

The details of the transfer remain scanty though as reported by by his immediate former club Lierse SK of Belgium, the speedy winger penned a three-year contract on Monday with the 2003 Chinese Super League champions.

Timbe has been in superb form with Lierse SK this season leaving them on the verge of elevation to the Belgium First Division League having joined them in July 2016 after a successful loan spell from Racing Genk.

Beijing Renhe finished fourth behind winners, Michael Olunga’s club Guizhou Hengfeng who earned promotion to the top tier league from Second Division League.

Chinese transfer is expected to shut down on February 28 with the new season set to kick-off on March 11.

Chinese clubs have in the recent made headlines with their huge money spending that has seen them lure big names among them former Manchester United and Juventus forward Carlos Tevez and Brazilian and former Chelsea midfielder Oscar.
