If you purchase electricity through the prepaid system then better buy your tokens now.
Kenya Power has announced that it will be shutting down the prepaid system on Wednesday at 10pm to Thursday 6am, for maintenance.
“Token generation will resume thereafter until 10pm on Thursday when the second shutdown will start and end at 6am on Friday,” said Kenya Power in a statement.
The electricity company says that through this period, customers on the prepaid system will not be able to buy electricity tokens.
“The system maintenance is necessary to enhance efficiency and improve service delivery to our esteemed customers. Last week, the Company shut down the prepaid system to facilitate implementation of the new electricity tariffs,” further read the statement.
Meanwhile, police have arrested three suspected conmen, who were calling Kenya Power customers and demanding money from them, in Kisii.
