10 years for men who vandalized Kenya power property

Mombasa, KENYA: A Mombasa court on Wednesday sentenced two men for vandalizing Kenya Power cables.

Joseph Omuse and Faiz Kazungu are set to serve 10 years in jail or pay a fine of Sh.5 million each for vandalizing underground Aluminum power cables belonging to the parastatal.
 The court heard that on 17th August 2018, Omuse and  Kazungu vandalized the aluminum cables worth Sh.1,367,000 in Makande area within Mombasa County and the accused persons pleaded guilty to the offense.
“The penalty for the offense facing accused persons is ten years imprisonment or a fine of Sh.5 million and the two will serve that sentence’ Mombasa resident magistrate Martin Rabera ruled.
