Mombasa, KENYA: An Equity Bank employee was on Wednesday charged in a Mombasa court for allegedly stealing over sh.1 million from the bank.
Kenneth Kipruto Chirchir on diverse dates between 2nd and 7th December 2016, at Equity Bank Moi Avenue branch in Mombasa, is accused of stealing sh. 1,419,223 which came to his possession by virtue of him being an employee of the bank.
The accused pleaded not guilty before Mombasa Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogot, who ordered him released on a surety bond of sh. 100,000 shillings.
The case will be heard on 18th January 2017.
