KCPE and KPSEA exams starts in earnest in Coast amidst heavy rains

Heavy rains nearly hindered the start of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education(KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment( KPSEA) in parts of Coast region on Monday.

In Rabai Constituency, impassable roads made it difficult for candidates heading to Bofu primary school in Ruruma ward to reach school on time.

According to Baraka FM’s correspondent Johnson Chengo, the heavy rains started pounding the area on Sunday.

“It’s still raining up to now. The roads here are not good so definitely candidates had a hard time making it to school on time”, he said.

In other regions including Mombasa, Kwale the exams started in earnest despite the rains.

Kwale County Commissioner Michael Mwangi said the exams started well and that there is peace and tranquility to allow the candidates to concentrate fully on their examinations.

He also assured resident of security saying police are manning all examinations centers across the county.
