Kwale,KENYA: Kwale county women representative Zuleikha Juma has lashed out at a section of leaders accusing President Uhuru Kenyatta of neglecting central region in development projects.

Zuleikha who was speaking on Tuesday dismissed the claims saying they are politically instigated with no basis and truth.

According to Zulekha, central region has benefited immensely in terms of development compared to other regions in the country.

“For many years Kiambu and Kirinyaga have been economically ahead than other counties and therefore saying that central region has been neglected is not true,” she said.

She hailed President Kenyatta for being adamant that development should cut across all parts of the country.

“For many years coast region feeling as not being part of Kenya was defined by the speech uhuru made on Monday that coast people and Kenyans wanted to hear. It is evident that may be the president realized that the only way to development is having a government that brings everyone together,” she said.

Zuleikha reiterated that the sentiments from central leaders against the president are politically driven over deputy president William Ruto ambition for 2022 presidency.

“There are those Mps supporting him (Ruto) and that Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga pact will lock them out to achieve their dream because their argument is always centred on William Ruto,” said the Mp.
