Mombasa, KENYA: Two suspects have been arrested in Likoni in connection with Monday night attack where three people were seriously slashed.

Police also recovered three machetes from the suspects believed to have been used in the attack.

Three were slashed by unknown assailants at Ushindi area of  Likoni on  Monday night.

Likoni police boss Benjamin Rotich who led the operation said the suspects have crucial information which will be of importance to investigators to unravel the motive of the attack.

“We have two prime suspects and the crackdown will continue, we won’t stop until we bring all suspects to book,” said the police boss.

This came just some hours to presidential repeat polls expected to be conducted on Thursday.

Top security officials in the sub-county held an emergency meeting which lasted for several hours.

After the meeting, several officers were deployed in the area to conduct a search which led to arrest of the duo.
