Kiraithe refutes allegations that public resources were used in “Friends of Jubilee party”

Mombasa,KENYA:Government spokesperson Eric Kiraithe has refuted allegations that public resources were used in preparation of the Friends of Jubilee  fundraising dinner.

While addressing journalists in Mombasa on Friday, Kiraithe said that no government official was involved in preparation of the dinner and any government official who was invited had been invited as an individual friend of Jubilee.

“That party was prepared by a group calling itself “Friends of jubilee party” and I would like to clarify that no public resources were used.”Kiraithe said.

Kiraithe also dared those with evidence that public funds were used  during the fundraising to bring them forward, also saying civil servants are free to attend a fundraising dinner organized by the NASA coalition.

A fundraising dinner organized by the ‘Friends of Jubilee “ at the Safari Park hotel on June 9th managed to raise sh 1 billion in less than an hour.

The NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga is expected to hold his fundraising dinner on 19th June.
