London, ENGLAND: Goals from Diego Costa, Marcus Alonzo and Nemanja Matic gave Chelsea a 3-0 victory over struggling Middlesbrough on Monday night to move to within three points from clinching the English Premier League.

Chelsea who are now seven points better than second placed Tottenham with three games to play, will be crowned champions with win away at West Brom on Friday night.

Tottenham could have taken the title hunt down to the wire but their 1-0 stumble against hosts West Ham last week left Chelsea with nothing but to capitalize and widen the gap.

Meanwhile, the defeat saw Middlesbrough became the second club after Sunderland to be relegated this season as they remain rooted 19 on 28 points.
