Mombasa, KENYA: Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi on Friday woke up in utter disbelief that unknown men had broken into his house and made away with valuables of unknown worth.

Speaking to Baraka FM , Governor Kingi said robbers broke into his main house in Nyali while he was asleep with his family.

Kingi says that he heard commotion from downstairs but by the time he got to the sitting room, the robbers had already done the looting and left.

“Some of the things they have managed to get away with are: a 55 inches TV and a laptop belonging to one of my kids.” Said Kingi.

He has however noted that no one was injured during the robbery.

The incident has been reported to Nyali Police Station and the officers are reported to have started gathering evidence so as to track down the robbers.

The incident comes as the Kilifi Governor and his Mombasa counterpart Ali Hassan Joho had reportedly said they had been stripped off their security detail late last year.
