Mombasa, KENYA: Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has finally come out and defended his decision to reject security officers who were sent by the Government to man his home.

Speaking in Mombasa on Monday during the launch of voter registration campaign, Governor Joho said he refused to have the officers, alleging they were sent on a mission.

He further claimed the five Administrations Police AP officers were being used as spies by the authority to monitor his movements and report to relevant people.

‘’Why do you send me officers of your choice, I already knew the move behind this and I can tell you they were sent to watch my movements,’’ said Joho.

‘’Some were even instructed to put some secret weapons in my compound, I thank God I’m safe and I don’t need the officers,’’ he added.

Joho last week made headlines, after refusing to have the AP officers sent to man his home days after his security detail had been withdrawn.
