London. ENGLAND: Arsenal has signed Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez on loan until the end of the season with an option of making the deal permanent in summer.
The Gunners have paid £2.17m to secure the signature of the Spaniard whose services were dimmed surplus at Camp Nou.
Suarez will play under Unai Emery for the second time having worked together at Sevilla in 2014/15 season.
The 25-year-old has played 71 games for Barcelona scoring eight goals and once for Spain. He recently signed a new contract which runs until 2021.
The acquisition of Suarez is a relief to Arsenal boss Unai Emery who has seen his squad limited of options following a series of injuries that has hit the Gunners camp, with a number of first-team players sidelined.
