President Kenyatta warns ministers to respect Matiang’i

Nairobi, KENYA: President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned cabinet secretaries to respect his appointment of interior CS Fred Matiang’i  as a ‘super CS’.

He also put on notice under performing CSs while chairing his first cabinet meeting.

The president was very keen on cabinet secretaries’ conduct towards politics. He told all CSs to adhere to the constitution or they face the sack.

President Kenyatta also warned ministers against engaging in politics  saying he won’t hesitate to replace them.

“During today’s cabinet meeting have reminded our cabinet secretaries that there are many young Kenyans who are ready and willing to do the job if they feel that they are not up to the task. Those who have decided to choose to politic instead of serving the people should be ready to give the way, “said president Kenyatta.

Deputy president Dr. William Ruto also reiterated president’s directive to cabinet ministers .

Dr Ruto also supported the appointment of Matiang’i as Chair of the National Development and Communication cabinet committee tasked with supervising the delivery of all government projects and allocation of resources.
