Public participation on House levy kicks off in Mombasa

Mombasa residents will begin giving out their views on the controversial affordable house levy.

The public participation sittings will be held at Ronald Ngala primary school in Mombasa County starting 10am today(Tuesday).

According to a gazette notice, the Kenyan parliament will collect views of the public in several counties including; Lamu, Kisii, Homabay, Machakos, Uasin Gishu, Wajir, Nakuru and Kilifi.

Others are Nairobi, Kiambu, Tana River, Kirinyaga and Narok.

The courts declared the house levy unconstitutional last week.
