Two men were arraigned in a Mombasa court on Monday for allegedly stealing property worth Kshs. 2 million from a long distance truck along Mombasa-Nairobi Highway
According to the charge sheet, Jamleck Maina and Solomon Munyaka broke into a truck parked at Mtito Andei town before stealing the goods. They later escaped the scene on a motorcycle.The good belonged to a businessman Mr. Abdalla Awadh.
However, the suspects denied the charges before senior Magistrate Rita Orora, and were ordered to pay Kshs.1M or a cash bail of Kshs. 500,000 before being released pending arraignment in a later date.
By the time of going to press, the two suspects had not yet paid the bails.The case is set for mentioning on the 6th November 2023.
