ODM leaders in Mombasa County have told off politicians allied to the Deputy president William Ruto for branding Raila Odinga a state project.
Led by Mvita Mp Abdulswamad Nassir said Raila is a statesman who has served the nation wholeheartedly and should be respected.
He added that Raila cannot be a government project because he has all it takes to win presidential elections without government support.
“When Raila was under detention, these crop of politicians were busy chasing tenders and grabbing public utilities. How then can they know the importance of Raila in this nation?, he posed.
Speaking during a counter rally in Mvita on Saturday, Abdulswamad said Raila will be Kenyan’s project to offer good leadership.
At the same time, Likoni lawmaker Mishi Mboko accused the said politicians of short sightedness claiming they can never achieve what the ODM leader has achieved.
“Raila is the right person to lead this country. He is the father of this country and the only politician Kenyans can trust.” She said.
