Compensation of residents who paved way for the Mwache dam project in Kinango sub-county,Kilifi County will be completed by November 2021. The ministry of water said already 70 per cent of compensation has been paid out. Speaking in Kwale, Water PS Mr. Joseph Irungu, said that the national government in collaboration with the World Bank has ensured that all residents receive their compensation by November when the project will be officially launched.
Meanwhile, Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has expressed his satisfaction with the project, saying it will solve the perennial water problem in the area and neighbouring Mombasa County.
According to the government, sh.4 billion will be paid as compensation to residents affected by the project.
