Tension in Rabai as Elephants raid villages

Tension has gripped villages in Rabai Constituency; Kilifi County after a group of marauding elephants was spotted in the area.

According to residents, the elephants totaling eight traversed the villages in Ruruma ward in search of food and water.

A video also emerged showing the elephants crossing a busy highway with some locals following them.

However, Rabai police commander Fred Abuga said they had already notified the wildlife service – KWS about the raid that occurred on Tuesday.

Abuga also pointed out that no one was attacked by the jumbos.

The elephants are thought to be from the Tsavo East National park.
