Mombasa residents have been urged to perform citizen arrest against drug barons in the County.
Citizen’s arrest is an arrest made by a private citizen – that is, a person who is not acting as a sworn law-enforcement official to help apprehend law breakers.
Mombasa County Commissioner Gilbert Kitiyo, said the public can arrest drug barons to help fight drug menace in the County.
” We need your help in finding these culprits. You know we have what we call citizen arrest, if they can arrest them, it would be welcomed”, he said.
He also appealed to the public to report suspected drug lords to police for arrests to be made.
Kitiyo was speaking in Majaoni, Kisauni Constituency after launching a campaign against drug abuse.
