Embakasi East Mp Babu Owino has threatened to lead countrywide demonstration to force the government to pay stipend to teachers employed by schools management (BOM).
On his facebook post, Owino said he will lead what he called “mother and father” of all demonstrations which will render all roads impassable.
” I will personally lead the mother and father of all demonstrations and all roads will be blocked on a daily basis. We will demand for teargas if we can’t demand for money ‘, he said.
The Mp said most BOM teachers are shy to fight for their rights hence he must act on their behalf.
” Pockets of BOM Teachers are shy and they must be made to smile.Comrade Babu Owino..Angel of Demonstrations”, he added.
This comes a day after Education chief Administrative Secretary Zack kinuthia said BOM teachers will start receiving stipend from the sh 1.72 billion COVID-19 relief kitty starting today.
He said names of 43,000 teachers to benefit from the kitty have already been submitted to the ministry by school heads.
