The Country has recorded again the highest number of recoveries against the new infections in the last 24 hours.
Speaking during COVID-19 updates on Thursday, Health Chief Admintsrtive secretary Rashid Aman said 490 patients recovered from the virus.
Aman said that 248 patient were under home based health care program while 242 patients were discharged from various hospitals where they were receiving treatment.
The number of recoveries has risen to 22,047 people.
However, 143 more people tested positive for the COVID-19 virus after 3,854 samples were tested raising the virus infection cases in the country to 35,603.
Coast region registered 18 new cases distributed in Mombasa (9) Kilifi (8) and Taita Taveta County (1)
Mombasa cases were registered in Kisauni (8) and Mvita (1)
Five more people succumbed to the virus raising fatality rate to 612.
Nairobi led in the daily positivity rate, recording 35 cases in the last 24 hours.
Other counties with new cases include;Kitui 23, Mombasa nine, Garissa nine, Kilifi eight, Turkana seven, Uasin Gishu two and Meru one.
