Late president Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi will be accorded a state burial following his demise on Tuesday 4th February 2020.
This is according to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s statement to the nation.
President Kenyatta said in honor of the life and times of the late great Mzee Moi, state funeral shall be arranged with all appropriate civilian and military honor being rendered and observed.
” I Uhuru Kenyatta under the authority vested in me as the president of the Republic of Kenya and commander in chief of defense forces, do hereby order and direct that the late Mzee Toroitich Arap Moi shall be accorded a state funeral with all appropriate civilian and military honor being rendered and observed,” Said President Kenyatta.
However, the head of state has directed that all flags of the Republic of Kenya shall be flown half mask at state house, state lodges, all public buildings and public grounds, all military bases, post and stations and all naval vessels of the Republic of Kenya from dawn 4th February 2020 until sunset on the day of burial.
Kenya will observe a period of National mourning starting Tuesday to the day that Moi will be interred.
