A man is nursing serious injuries after suspected gang members chopped off his ear in Likoni.
The victim who has been identified as Said Ali said that he had been riding his bicycle headed to work on Tuesday morning when the machete-wielding gang which was numbered at 8 members struck.
“I was cycling my bicycle, when I arrived at Kona Zamani as I was about to join the main road, armed men forcefully stopped me and started slashing me” Ali was quoted by the Standard.
Though he says the gang members did not steal anything from him, he sustained serious injuries on his arms.
On Tuesday, medics at the Likoni Subdistrict hospital successfully managed to reattach his ear before transferring him to the Coast Provincial General Hospital.
This comes just a day after a suspected gang member was shot in Kisauni after attacking a matatu together with his accomplices.
