Singer and businesswoman Akothee had a show over the weekend, but her performance did not really go well with Kenya Films Classification Board CEO Ezekiel Mutua.

The KFCB boss took to social media to air out his opinion on Akothee’s performance, going as far as calling it ‘demonic’.

“Kenya has got talent but as long as we keep this kind of madness, our entertainment industry will never grow,” reads Mutua’s post.

Though Akothee was wearing a long-sleeved bodysuit with white boots, what really got Mutua was her dance which the KFCB boss termed as stupid stunts to remain relevant.

“What’s worse is to see grown up men and women celebrating this scatological obscenity in the name of entertainment. We have lost it as a nation. People like Akothee cannot be the role models for our daughters. Music doesn’t have to be dirty to sell,” said Mutua.

Mutua, however, suggests that Akothee and other artists to use their platform to influence the youth to produce better content.

“This kind is crass, moronic and a theatre of the absurd. It’s demonic to the core and only appeals to debilitating and incorrigible perverts and brainless audiences. Akothee must stop this idiosyncrasy,” he adds.

The mother of five performed at Papa Remo beach in Watamu in her first show this year, which might as well be her last show in Kenya as she relocates to Europe.
