12 terror suspects including a New Zealander have been arrested at the Dadaab refugee camp.

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet confirmed the incident saying the 12 were arrested during a security operation conducted at the refugee camp in Garissa County, two weeks after the Dusit attack that claimed 21 lives.

“One of them has two New Zealand passports in different names,” IG Boinnet told Capital FM.

So far 17 suspects have been arraigned in court following the 14 Riverside attack.

The arrests also come barely 3 days after a suspected IED exploded along Latema road in Nairobi, slightly injuring two people.

Meanwhile, 17 youth have been arrested in Samburu, Kwale County for allegedly planning to join Al Shabaab.

Court has allowed police to detain them for seven days.

They were arrested in a safe house in Samburu township.

Police claim the 17 were being processed to join Al Shabaab in Somalia.
