You should always beware of your surrounding and report promptly to the Police or other security agencies should you see anything of security concern.
Following a suspected Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) explosion that happened along Latema road in Nairobi on Saturday, slightly injuring two people, police have urged the public to always be alert.
“We wish to inform the public that investigations that will help in identifying those who may have been involved in the incident including reviewing CCTV camera footage are ongoing,” read a statement from the police.
According to police and witnesses, the said IED was in a luggage sealed in a box.
The two who were injured, a newspaper vendor and the man pulling the trolley that had the luggage, were treated at a local dispensary and discharged.
“Whilst we appeal to the public to support the security agencies to deal with these threats by providing information,we equally request that we refrain from profiling any sections of our population or even engaging in any unlawful acts that could lead to a breach of the peace,” further warned the police.
The explosion came almost two weeks after a terror attack at the DusitD2 complex in Nairobi’s Westlands area.
