Mombasa, KENYA: If you are a Mombasa resident living in crime laden areas like Kisauni then you no longer have to fear for your safety.

Mombasa County Commissioner Evans Achoki on Wednesday said that the county has come up with counter measures to curb criminal activities following an upsurge in cases of people being attacked and hacked by unknown machete bearing gang.

“We have opened a police post in Concordia and Kadongo. On Tuesday we opened another post at Kadzandani to serve Kisauni and Nyali. We also have Kiembeni police post,” said Achoki.

The Mombasa police boss encouraged the public to use these posts saying that the police will be at the stations day and night to serve them.

“We arrested a group of people on Tuesday and they are helping with the investigations to get to the root cause of the matter,” he added.

The assurance came hours after former Kilifi Deputy Governor Kennedy Kamto was shot dead at his residence in Nyali.
