Migori, KENYA: Ochillo Ayacko has clinched the Migori Senatorial seat.

Ochillo, who contested the seat through an ODM ticket, garnered 85,234 of the total votes in the senatorial by election held on Monday.

Eddy Gicheru Oketch of the Federal Party of Kenya (FPK) came in second with 60,555 votes.

The 27 year old Eddy was the biggest rival to Ayacko in the contests.

Vote counting ended on Tuesday morning, the seat attracted six candidates.

The by election was as a result of the passing of Migori Senator Ben Oluoch in June.

Oluoch, a former Ramogi and KBC radio presenter, died at MP Shah hospital in Nairobi after a long battle with cancer.
