Sumu La Penzi Actress Joyce Maina’s family is mourning.
This is after the actress’s father was found dead, 6 months after he went missing.
According to detectives, the body of the actress’s dad, James Maina, was found in River Thiba, Embu County on Sunday.
Joyce who plays the role of Tindi in Sumu La Penzi had made an appeal in May to members of the public to help her find her Dad.
According to Joyce, her father had gone missing on 21st April while driving from Embu to his house in Langata, his phone was last traced at Rwika area in Embu County.
His family had even offered a Sh. 1 million cash reward for anyone who had information that could lead to the businessman being found.
According to sources, the 56-year-old slain businessman used to hire farms in Kirinyaga and Embu counties.
His decomposing body had been found in a mangled wreckage of his car, a Volvo XC60 at the river bed on Sunday.
Police sources suspect that his vehicle was washed into the river during the heavy floods experienced in April.
The actress has since confirmed the incident and requested her fans to give her family space as they make funeral arrangements.
Other than Sumu La Penzi, Joyce has appeared in several programs like New beginnings, Selina , Wrath and Cannes festival screened film, Neophobia.
