A man in Keiyo North has lost his life over a ‘ngumu’.

40 year old Kiplimo Kibet lost his life after his 20 year old cousin, kipkosgei Kosgei, hit him with a wooden post for denying him a ‘ngumu’.

According to Keiyo North OCPD Mwenda Meme, Kibet had bought shortcakes, commonly known as ‘ngumu’, worth sh.50 while on their way home from doing some casual job in a neighbouring village, and refused to share it with his 20 year old cousin Kipkosgei.

This led to a dispute that ended up in a fight.

According to Meme, Kosgei then picked up a wooden post from a nearby fence and hit Kibet with it on the head killing him on the spot.

The suspect who was almost lynched by the mob was rescued and is being held by the police as investigations are carried out.

“The body has been taken to Iten County Referral Hospital for postmortem as we continue to question the suspect,” said Meme.
