A man has left tongues busy after he was captured in a photograph rescuing ugali during a demolition process in Kilimani area, Nairobi.
While many would consider other things as valuable items to loot, one man changed the trend and opted for a huge ugali!
The ugali man, as he has now been nicknamed, was captured by Daily Nation photographer Evans Habil during the ongoing demolitions of illegal structures at Kilimani.
The operation by the Nairobi County government was initiated by Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko to rid the city of illegal structures across all the 17 sub-counties.
The demolitions also target structures selling foodstuff along the roads commonly known as vibandas/ vibandaskis that dump waste anyhow.
As the operations intensify, people have been trying to rescue anything they could get their hands on.
This man just ran to the giant ugali’s rescue ignoring everything else, not even prying eyes from surprised onlookers could stop him from his rescue mission.
“We were dealing with the small structures. We wanted to arrest as many as possible and take them to court to act as a deterrent to others. We were enforcing all the illegalities. There were some who were dumping wastes, some cooking by the roadside while others were hawking,” said Peter Mbaya, the operation director.
The picture has made way on social media sparking hilarious reactions and comments from Kenyans.
So science have proved that the only sincere love in Kenya is thé love for food – ugaliman chronicles..
