Kisumu,KENYA:The Court of Appeal in Kisumu has upheld Migori governor Zachary Okoth Obado’s win.

Justice Steven Gatembu dismissed a petition by former sports minister Ochillo Ayacko, against re-election of Governor Obado saying the high court had not erroneously thrown out the petition.

The court  had ruled that there was no sufficient evidence to support  the bribery and irregularities claims by the petitioner.

However, the court revised the cost of suit slapped on Ayacko by the high court from sh. 6 million to Sh.3 million.

Ochillo had moved to the Court of Appeal following a High Court ruling  that upheld  Obado’s win on  27th February 2018.

Obado garnered 201,369 votes compared to Ayacko’s 113,773 votes.
