Mombasa, KENYA:A man was on Thursday sentenced to four months in prison after pleaded guilty of stealing a mobile phone from a woman after he had taken her for lunch.
Kevin Hassan Ali told the court that he did not intend to steal the mobile phone and requested the court to forgive him since he was a first offender.
According to the complainant Grace Njambi, Mr.Ali told her to help him with her mobile phone so that he would make a phone call few minutes after they had arrived in a hotel at Mwembe Tayari area in Mombasa.
Court heard that the accused person took the complainants phone and did not come back.
He stole a mobile phone make Itel worth Ksh.15,000 on 20th of April 2018.
Senior resident magistrate Edigah Kagoni sentenced Ali four months in jail saying it will be a lesson to the others.
