Nairobi,KENYA:President of the judiciary service commission (JSC) David Maraga, has refuted utterances made by the interior cabinet secretary Fred Matiangi,   that some members of the judiciary been quoted telling litigants to appeal court orders they had doubts in.

Addressing members of the press on Thursday in Nairobi just before the start of East Africa Conference on matters justice, Maraga said he is not aware of any part of the judiciary that has been captured by the opposition or the media, rather starting that if someone is unhappy with an order given, they should consider other channels like that of appealing the case.

” I’m not aware of any part of the judiciary that has been quoted by the opposition or the media. If you are not happy with the order that has been given, the channels are there you can appeal.” Said Maraga.

Maraga however, said that he has not received any complaints of improper conduct by judges saying, that although judges give orders, they can also make mistakes which should be challenged in the court of appeal.

He also added that the court did not issue any orders in favor of  the opposition or the government in regards to the 2017 election petitions.

This comes just a few days  after the interior CS  Dr Fred Matiangi, appeared before the parliamentary committee on security on Tuesday and decried an evil clique of judges whom  he said were frustrating the executive
