Ottawa, CANADA: Kenya missed the chance to clinch her second World Rugby Sevens series main cup title after going down 31-19 to Fiji in the finals of the sixth leg held in Canada Monday morning.

The two sides tied 12-12 at halftime before Fiji took full control of the proceedings in the second stanza with trio of Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Alasio Naduva and Amenoni Nasilasila grabbing all the important points as Fiji romp to victory.

It was a sweet revenge for Fiji who lost to Kenya at the Singapore Sevens finals in 2016, where for the first time in history after a long wait Kenya finally clinched her maiden main Cup.

Nevertheless, it was a sign of improvement from the team especially after stunning England and USA to cruise to the finals for the first time in two years.

After six rounds of the series Kenya remain in 8th position having amassed 64 points while Fiji jumped to second on 101 points, eight behind table toppers South Africa.
