Taita Taveta,KENYA: A 27-year-old woman has been arrested by Police in Taita Taveta for allegedly suffocating her 7- day- old baby to death.
The incident occurred at Sagala area.
Taita Taveta police commander Fred Ochieng said the accused Esther Wanjala smothered her child with a piece of clothe.
Ochieng suspected the Woman committed the crime following a domestic squabble.
Meanwhile Police in Malindi are investigating the deaths of two young boda boda riders who were involved in a head on collision with a matatu at Kwandomo on Malindi-Lamu Highway.
According to an eye witness, the two were trying to avoid an oncoming car when the accident happened.
The matatu was ferrying passengers from Malindi to Gongoni.
Malindi OCPD Matawa Muchangi confirmed the incident.
The bodies of the young men were taken to Malindi county hospital mortuary.
