KANUTHA: 10 Things ladies should never do on their first date

To every man outside there who has ever been on a date with a lady obviously; you will bear me witness that there are things  men don’t like, especially from a lady who you think you want to spend your whole lifetime with on your very first date.

To most ladies who have been out on dates for a long time now, I bet by now you have some expertise on the don’ts on your first dates which ironically never seem to end.

For the first timers in this game, you might probably want to consider the following;

1.Don’t talk about marriage on your first date.

It’s not wrong to talk about future plans especially marriage and family, but on this one don’t be too quick to make up your mind on the first date that you want to marry him. This is because, maybe the jamaa has already friend zoned you or even made up his mind you can only be good friends or even business partners.Making quick decisions without taking time will only attract heartbreak.

2.Don’t compare him to your ex or talk about your ex, only if he requests.

We all must have probably been in a romantic relationship that didn’t work, in such a situation it only works better if the guy asks the questions about your Ex rather than a lady being the one bringing up the topic of an ex-partner.The conversation only gets interesting when you talk about the basics and always don’t try to campaign for your ex.

3. Don’t be too quick to post your pictures on Instagram, Facebook, (social media).

To the ladies who are photo addicts, posting your photos on the first date is not the issue, the issue is the caption on that picture.Captions like my new catch, new Bae, My ride or die or some other weird captions should not be in your posts; remember you are two strangers trying to know each other.

4. Don’t ask to meet his Mother or Father. Only if he suggests.

By requesting to meet the parents, this always triggers a negative thought mostly to guys who are not yet ready to settle down after the first date. On the other hand, why would you want to meet my parents and yet you don’t even known my third name.

5. Don’t order what you don’t know

Don’t pretend to have an experience with the five-star hotel menu and yet you have no idea, being yourself is the only thing that will help you win his heart.

6. Don’t lie that you’re a virgin and don’t lie about your age,

It’s always a pass to tell your age as it is without trying to make a point you are younger than the guy or even older than him.   Also too much information like your sexual history is not important. Who needs to know the number of people you have slept with at this point? Some say the earlier the better but always be keen to observe his reactions when you are talking about sensitive issues about relationship. From the reaction and responses you can tell whether he can handle it.

7. Don’t fake an accent and don’t be rude

Being yourself is the key, whether you are smart in your verbal communication or not, that’s who you are.
Don’t be rude or nasty to the waiter or waitress just because you want to impress or be a Diva.Remember the first time impressions speaks a lot about an individual’s character and behavior so be at your best.

8. Don’t go out without “vex money” or a simple transport fare

Always have “bailout” money this doesn’t mean utatokwa but always have a plan B.
Because it’s a date it doesn’t mean all expenses even your airtime allowance  is on the guy,you should carry some few coins to only bring out that “miss independent” effect on a date but don’t overdo it. Don’t ask him for money; dates are not fundraising events they are just dates.

9. Don’t bother him with all your family or personal issues.

Just forget about your problems for a moment and focus on the good time you will be spending alone.

And last but not least, the basic rule in the game has always been don’t take your friends along with you on a date; I guess this is self explanatory
