Mombasa, KENYA: Mombasa residents on Tuesday got an opportunity to board an Omani luxury cruise ship which is docked at the port of Mombasa, on a four-day visit.

The Omani super yacht christened Fulk Al Salamah (ship of peace) is the World’s newest yacht and set sail from Oman on October 6 for an East Africa voyage.

The journey began from Sultan Qoboos Port in Oman to Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam and finally docked at the Mombasa port on Sunday with over 350 voyagers on board.

Express Shipping Limited company organized an opportunity for Mombasa residents to board the ship so as to sample the Omani culture. Over 500 people got an opportunity to board the ship.

Susan Siboi one of the residents who got to board a cruise ship for the first time, expressed her joy in that she was a marine engineer student.

“I was so happy that I finally got this opportunity, to get to see what I only learned in class. However, I wish we were given the opportunity to see more places inside the ship, like the engine room and the cabins,” said Siboi.

The lucky ones who got to board the ship also walked away with goodies from Oman which included: T-shirts, Oman food, Kanzus etc.
