Mombasa, KENYA: Detectives in Mombasa are holding a police officer linked to the killings of a passenger in Changamwe Tuesday night.

Three others who were with the suspect have been disarmed and are being interrogated.

The passenger who was in a 14 seater matatu KBK 400k was shot in the neck by the said officer and he died on the spot.

Police had accused the driver of the Matatu for refusing to stop after being flagged off.

The officer is likely to face murder charges.

An AK47 and two G3 rifles belonging to the officer have been confiscated and handed to DCI.

Changamwe police boss Peter Omwana had told Baraka FM on Wednesday the passengers who had escaped were being sought to help police with investigations.

The deceased was travelling from town towards Changamwe when the incident happened.
