Mombasa,KENYA:Flying squad officers in Mombasa have arrested airport ward MCA , Ibrahim Oyugi Omondi.
He was arrested on Friday at 4am at his house and whisked to Changamwe police station before he wass transferred to port police station according to police sources.
Police say they had tried to arrest him on Thursday night but he mobilized criminal gangs who turned violent and attacked police prompting the officers to flee.
Police said he was arrested following his remarks they had military goons to disrupt Thursday presidential polls.
Police said the suspect will face charges of incitement among residents.
The first term MCA Thursday during a press conference referred to president Uhuru Kenyatta as a caretaker.
Changamwe police boss peter Omwana confirmed the arrest but did not give more information.
“Its true the MCA was arrested this morning but I refer you to deputy inspector general of police he has more information”, said police boss.
