Gor Mahia’s Wendo feted KPL May finest

Nairobi, KENYA: Gor Mahia midfielder Ernest Wendo has been feted as the Kenyan Premier League KPL best player for the month of May.

Wendo garnered more votes than his opponents to claim the monthly accolade organized by Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK).

Stephen Waruru, Tusker FC goal keeper Duncan Ochieng and Nakumatt FC forward Kepha Aswani all made it to the final list but Wendo toppled with 23 votes cast by the SJAK panel.

During that month Gor Mahia register unbeaten run drawing ones and winning three from four matches including a 3-0 thrashing of rivals AFC Leopards.

With the success Wendo has been rewarded with Sh100, 000, a 43-inch LG smart television and a trophy while Gor Mahia received Sh50, 000 for his services.
