Mombasa, KENYA: Police in Likoni, Mombasa county have warned parents that they have only themselves to blame if their children who belong to the criminal gangs in the area go missing.

New likoni police chief Benjamin Rotich said the government will not sit back and watch investors leave the sub-county because of few individuals who have decided to terrorize the residents in the area.

He said most of the parents have neglected their parental roles, leaving young children to join criminal gangs instead of being in school.

Police boss further issued a stern warning to new elected leaders to keep off police stations; adding that they are the ones who pay bonds for youth arrested to be freed.

He said they will be arrested too and locked up with the suspects too.
