Mombasa,KENYA:Coast regional coordinator Nelson Marwa on Saturday accused the NASA coalition officials of entertaining hooliganism .
Addressing journalists in Mombasa Mr. Marwa said a lot of theft cases were reported during the NASA rally which was held at Mama Ngina drive.
‘It is unfortunate that no NASA leader has come out to condemn yesterday’s incident, where many people’s property including the disabled was stolen’ he said.
Marwa was referring to an incident on Friday where chaos were experienced at the NASA megarally in Mama ngina grounds after supporters of Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho clashed with supporters of Wiper party gubernatorial candidate Hassan Omar Sarai.
However the wiper candidate Hassan Omar earlier accused Joho of hiring goons to disrupt the rally after the NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga failed to urge Mombasa residents to vote in the “six piece” system.
Following a surge in the number of people travelling upcountry,Marwa directed police to arrest a woman whom he did not disclose her name for allegedly inciting people to travel up country claiming there will be violence in region after the Tuesday polls.
Marwa said they had beefed up security to prevent any possibility of violence outbreak in the region ahead of the Tuesday polls.
