Nairobi, KENYA: Kenyan Premier League record winners Gor Mahia have climbed to the apex of the standings following a 1-0 victory over Nzoia United on Sunday, thanks to Meddie Kagere’s lone strike.

The success has seen K’ogalo take their point tally to 25 after 11 rounds of matches dislodging at the summit unbeaten Posta Rangers who shared the spoils with Nakumatt FC in a barren draw.

Elsewhere, the reigning champions Tusker continued their impressive run with a 2-1 win over visiting Sony Sugar to move fourth on 21 points, two behind second placed Rangers.

Meanwhile, AFC Leopards failed to win a match yet again as they came from behind to force a one all draw with Zoo Kericho to remain winless in their last three matches.

On Saturday, Bandari FC lost 1-0 to hosts Kariobangi Sharks, a defeat that head coach Paul Nkata attributed to fatigue which he believe is as a result of fixture congestion.

The Dockers have played three matches in 11 days and they will have little time to prepare before travelling to play Zoo Kericho in their next fixture on Saturday.

With five wins, four draws and two defeats in 11 matches to the season, Bandari is ranked seventh on 17 points in the 18-team table standings.
