Kenyan Premier League KPL entered  week five over the weekend with teams posting mixed results as the jostle for the top spot continues to get even tougher.

While title holders Tusker still struggling to find a winning formula , record winners Gor Mahia and Bandari FC bagged maximum points to maintain their push at the summit.

Playing at their home turf, the Dockers managed by the 2016 KPL coach of the year award winner Paul Nkata, thrashed 10-man Thika United 3-0 to move second in the log with 10 points from five matches.

Ugandan forward Dan Sserenkuma’s double and a Darius Msagha’s strike is all that Bandari needed to see off Thika who finished the match one man less after Joel Tata was  dismissed for a second bookable offense.

In the meantime  Gor Mahia had  just edged Sony Sugar 2-1 on Saturday in Moi Stadium, Kisumu taking their point tally to 12 to maintain their lead in the table standings as the defending champions Tusker and Ulinzi Stars battle for a 1-1 draw.

Elsewhere, resurgent Sofapaka continued its good start in the season with a convincing 3-0 win over struggling Zoo Kericho who is yet to win a man since its promotion.

In other results AFC Leopards edged Muhoroni Youth 1-0, Western Stima and Chemelil Sugar settled for a barren draw, while Nzoia Sugar rallied from behind to beat Kakamega Homeboyz 2-1 on Sunday.

The league continues on Tuesday with two matches to be played . Kariobangi Sharks  is to host Nakumatt FC as Mathare United tackles Posta Rangers.
