Mombasa,KENYA:Modern Coast Rangers came close to registering its second victory of the season, only to be denied by a last minute goal patched by Khalid Jumaan to give City Stars a share of the match.

George Owiti had sent the home fans into frenzy in the fifth minute when he put Rangers in front in the second division tier clash staged at Mbaraki stadium, Mombasa on Wednesday.

However, an 86th strike by the former AFC Leopards midfielder salvaged a point for the visiting City Stars who picked their first point of the season after losing all its two opening matches.

The draw means Rangers remain unbeaten after three matches to the season, with two draws and one victory to stand fifth in the log on five points, two off leaders Palos FC.

Rangers face Vihiga United next Sunday at Mumias stadium while City Stars will play host to Agro Chemical at Camp Toyoyo on the same day.
