Majority of Kenyans believe in NASA formation, Infotrak reveals

Nairobi,KENYA:About 65 % of Kenyans support the birth of the National Super Alliance NASA to compete with the Jubilee Party, this is according to the latest Infotrak poll released on Saturday.

The opinion polls further unearths that 25%of Kenyans did not support  formation of NASA to compete with Jubilee, while a tenth could not make up their minds.
However the most popular coalition ,Jubilee, stood at 40%.
Almost a third of Kenyans stood with NASA while 28% were undecided.
However, the CEO of Infotrak Angela Mbitho said the results were influenced with some factors.
” These numbers can change because the opinion poll’s interviews were closed two days after the NASA coalition was formed ,” she said.
The pollster noted that NASA’s stronghold was in Nyanza with 4 out of 5 polling in favour of the recently formed coalition.
The coalition’s popularity stood at 70% in Western, Eastern 68%,  Nairobi 67%, North Eastern and Coast 60% while Central came in last standing at 46%.
More Kenyans felt that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga should be the coalition’s flagbearer.
70 % of respondents preferred Mr.  Odinga, 13%  stood for Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi 12.5% ,and Moses Wetangula hit the 2.2% popularity mark, with 4.1% being undecided.
The research was conducted between 24th of February and the 2nd March with 1500 interviewees having  responded to questionnaires.
